The Rata Story

Paying homage to the Rata tree, native to New Zealand, Rata restaurant is an award winning eatery, owned and operated by internationally recognised Michelin starred chef Josh Emett, and local restauranteur Fleur Caulton. Rata takes inspiration from the southern landscape and everything that epitomises New Zealand. A relaxed eating-house with a neighbourhood feel, Rata is known for its excellent service and exceptional food. The restaurant is located discreetly away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown, tucked away alongside heritage buildings in the town’s core.

Rata is a great place to unwind, with several dining spaces including a sunny courtyard and comfortable bar. The menu showcases Josh’s impeccable cooking skills and the discipline of his Michelin star background, which ensures elegant, well-balanced, and inspired cuisine. The wine list proudly showcases wines from the Otago region and greater New Zealand, with an emphasis on an eclectic mix of the highly regarded and little known gems.

Rata’s décor uses warm, earthy tones and influences from the Otago scenery, local polished stone and natural woods; and combines this with a very modern industrial components: concrete, glass and steel. Throughout the space there are salvaged items, restored and given a chance to live again and give the space quirky charm and character.

The Madam Woo Story

Taking inspiration from traditional Malaysian hawker food, Madam Woo serves up big, fresh flavours in a vibrant, fun and modern setting. Award winning Kiwi chef Josh Emett and successful restauranteur Fleur Caulton, opened the doors to the first Madam Woo in Queenstown in 2013. Since then, they have opened four more Madam Woo's in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

The Hawker & Roll Story

Hawker & Roll is a Go To Collection Ltd. fast-casual restaurant, dishing up Malaysian inspired street-eats with vibrant and authentic flavours. The heart of the menu—the hawker roll—is a rolled roti (flakey and delicious) stuffed with your favourite flavours straight from the streets of Malaysia.
